Harvest of the Month for Early Care
We are so glad you have found your way to Minnesota’s Harvest of the Month Early Care materials! We hope these resources can provide some fun activities, resources and facts about some produce that can be grown in Minnesota.
Early care versions linked here include:
• An activity plan oriented to an early care audience
• A fact sheet with some interesting facts and a link to a Harvest of the Month video
• Simple recipes, with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) crediting information
Click the produce items below for all the produce-specific files.
We also have a couple of documents that could be used across all the items, including:
• 5 senses resource: Some early care providers recommended this as a consistent activity to introduce and explore these items. Using all your other senses can be an easier entry for kids who might not be ready to taste yet!
• Coloring pages: this was an addition based on feedback from providers - several are produce outlines, and some have simple activities, like bean matching!
We hope to be able to update and expand these resources in the future, and would welcome your feedback! Email hello@farmtoearlycaremn.org with suggestions or ideas.
